Presentation of Certificates to Skerries Local Training Initiative

Co-operation Fingal held a presentation event in the Bracken Court Hotel on April 7th 2008 for participants who recently completed a FAS-funded Local Training Initiative in Business Administration and ICT Skills.

Participants attended a part-time training programme over 31 weeks in Mourne Estate Resource Centre in Skerries and on completion 10 students achieved nationally recognised qualifications including ECDL and FETAC Modules. Some of the modules included Data Entry, Office Procedures, Computer Literacy, and Work Orientation. Seventy per cent of class participants have gone on to employment and further education.

Guest speakers on the night included Emer Mulligan, Manager of Co-Operation Fingal, Brian Gormley, Chairman of Co-Operation Fingal Board, Helina Smith, representing FAS, and Mary Ena Pyle representing the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC).

Other attendees included current participants of the Skerries Local Training Initiative and Co-operation Fingal staff.
