North Fingal Friendly Call Service

The Friendly Call Service provides a daily phone call to isolated or vulnerable people to make sure they are okay, to remind them of appointments if needed and most importantly, to provide a social contact which is so important for personal well-being. This service has been successfully operating in various parts of Dublin for some time e.g. Blanchardstown, Donabate/Portrane, Cabra, Stoneybatter.

The project is funded by the HSE and the phone calls are carried out by a dedicated team of CE workers in Mulhuddart who have built up quite a strong relationship with their clients. If there are any problems or issues, these are fed back to the relevant people in the local area committee and local volunteers are asked to check on certain clients if there is some concern about their welfare. This project is a very practical and pro-active way to provide support to those most vulnerable in our communities. Co-operation Fingal are eager to extend this to the whole North Fingal area.
